DESCRIPTION:

Drawing the link between the war on the poor at home and the war on the oppressed abroad represents a giant step towards forging a mass movement in this country, and in this city, that can break the back of the seemingly endless capitalist offensive against the working class that more seasoned activists once called the Reagan Revolution. Well, Reagan is dead but his "revolution" just keeps getting more revolting. What started out as a pathetic invasion of Grenada is now a brutal occupation of Iraq. And what started out as cutbacks in federal aid to public housing has now morphed into mass demolition of public housing complexes. C3 is actively organizing against both the war in Iraq and the war on the people of the Iberville public housing complex. This two-pronged fightback represents a concrete effort to build bridges between the predominately white, at this point, local anti-war movement and the predominately African-American public housing community in a common struggle for social justice. Together, we can put the Reagan Revolution where it belongs, in the grave with its namesake! Join us.
