Celebrate May Day with this film about the Spanish Civil War. In this fictional story set around the war in Spain, a young unemployed communist, David, leaves his hometown of Liverpool to join the fight against fascism in Spain. He joins an international group of Militia-men and women, the POUM (Partido Obrero de Unification Marxista). After being wounded he goes to Barcelona, where he decides to join a diffrerent group of fighters. They stay in Barcelona and end up fighting other groups.
