Reopen the St. Bernard and All of New Orleans Public Housing Developments Now! No to Apartheid Fences Around the St. Bernard!
Join and support St. Bernard Public Housing residents in a Public, Outdoor meeting with Housing Authority of New Orleans:
Tuesday, February 21 3PM St. Bernard Development, 3800 block of St Bernard Ave. in front of the St Bernard sign (where February 14th demonstration held)
Join St. Bernard and other Public Housing residents as they tell the Bush administrations appointed director of the Housing Authority of New Orleans, Nadine Jarmon, that:
· The St. Bernard and other developments need to reopen. Do not use the hurricane as pretext to reduce public housing stock
· No to spending $300,000 to place a fence around the St. Bernard development. Use money for repairs, not demolition.
· Reopen the St. Bernard health Clinic and clinics in al the developments. Accept offers of aid form Cuba and Venezuela to staff them
· Demand reconstruction of public housing to its pre-1995 level of 14,000 units.
