Reopen Public Housing Now!
House the Homeless!
Over 5000 units of public housing remains boarded up, yet our homeless population has quadrupled since Katrina.
We call on Mayor Nagin to address the catastrophic homeless population crisis in New Orleans now!
Join us this Tuesday, July 24th,
at City Hall, 1300 Perdido St.,
10 a.m. (meet out front),
Mayor Nagin's office, as we present this list of demands:
1. No demolition! Open 7000 public housing units now!
2. House the homeless! Open public housing apartments now!
3. Implement rent control city-wide.
4. Hire the homeless to fix up public housing.
5. Do not use HANO survey of public housing residents as a pretext to demolish public housing units.
