This workshop will examine how women of color and poor women's rights to safe and voluntary sex, birth control, and motherhood are increasingly restricted, controlled, and criminalized through contemporary reproductive practices and discriminatory population control polices that target marginalized women for dangerous contraceptives, sterilization abuse, medical experimentation, and restrictive reproductive and preventative health services and information.

Queer and human rights activists, and feminist, Cara Page, of the Committee on Women, Population, and the Kindred Southern Healing Justice Collective, will be leading this workshop.

Organizations and individuals working in the sexual health and reproductive rights movement, and allied social justice organizations who are interested in learning how sexual and reproductive health intersect with the issues you are currently organizing on are encourage to attend. For more information or if you are interested in attending, contact Mandisa Moore at 504-931-8482 or reply to whji_info@yahoo.com. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
