Is leaving the recovery in the hands of non-profit and for -profit corporations funded by government and foundation grants a recipe for rebuilding New Orleans, or anywhere for that matter, with justice?
We don't think so. That's why C3/Hands Off Iberville is fighting to reverse the savage privatization that the rulers of this country imposed on New Orleans after Katrina. That why we consciously seek to build grass roots organization in the community that struggle for working class, friendly public services and against working class, hostile so-called public services. That's why we struggle to build grass roots organization that depends on the support of the people and not on the grants of the foundations and the state.
If you think a better New Orleans is possible, then we urge you to join us 7pm every Thursday in Basin Hall at St. Jude's Church on 400 Basin St.
