DESCRIPTION:
The Bailout, Wall Street & Labruzzo

As the U.S. Congress and the White House busy themselves with the task of saddling taxpayers in America with a $700 billion dollar bailout for Wall Street, Louisiana Representative John Labruzzo(Metairie-R) is providing these forces a political cover by blaming the spiraling federal debt on the recipients of government assistance for the poor. While being interviewed by CNN Louisiana Representative John Labruzzo(Metairie-R) equated the proposed federal bailout for Wall Street with the allocation of food stamps and government subsidized housing to the nation’s poor. This comment, among other things, is a crude attempt by Labruzzo to funnel public rage away from the politicians and investment brokers associated with the Wall Street bailout and towards the recipients of food stamps and publicly subsidized housing, i.e. the poor. Ultimately, both the Wall Street bailout and Labruzzo’s scapegoating hurt all working and middle class people!

We, concerned people who live in New Orleans, call on all who oppose the bailout of Wall Street and the scapegoating of the poor and people of color to come together 4:30pm in front of the Federal Reserve Building on St. Charles Avenue in the CBD section of the City to speakout against the Bailout and Labruzzo’s attempt to link the poor to it.

UNITED WE STAND, SILENT WE FALL!
