Join the social justice contingent in the MLK parade to as we demand justice at home and abroad. Bring your banners, signs, bullhorns, and drums. We will march as a united front with all those in agreement with the following.
We demand:
• 1 for 1 replacement of Public Housing • Reopen the Rev. Avery C. Alexander Charity Hospital—NOW! No Demolition of Mid City neighborhoods for LSU’s hospital. • Immediate Recognition of the New Orleans Teachers Unions as collective bargaining agent. Public, not elitist, Charter Schools • End US Imperialist wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Redirect resources to fight racism and poverty at home! • Democratically Controlled Public Works program to rebuild New Orleans and Gulf-coast--infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and housing—at union wages. • End all US aid to Israel. Stop combined Zionist/US/Egyptian attack on Gaza! Prosecution of war criminals! • Justice for Adolph Grimes! Prosecute killer cops!
