Meeting to Stop Evictions and Foreclosure in New Orleans.

Finding ways to build a movement to bring a halt to evictions and foreclosures in New Orleans for the duration of the economic crisis is the focus of the meeting 7pm Thursday in St. Jude’s Basin Hall. C3 and May Day New Orleans call on all members of the community who support a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures in Orleans Parish to attend this meeting. At present the group is circulating a citywide petition demanding that Civil Sheriff Paul Valteau halt enforcement of notices of eviction and foreclosure in New Orleans immediately. The participants of this meeting will also explore the feasibility of conducting a pro-renter, anti-eviction direct action in the not too distant future.

Meeting: 7pm Thursday
March 26, 2009
Basin Hall in St. Jude’s Church
410 Basin Street, New Orleans
