This protest for more government funded jobs for low income New Orleanians will be held on the steps of New Orleans City Hall at 1300 Peridido Street. Followubg the rally participants will bring their demand for more Section 3 jobs for low income New Orleanians to the City Council to its full meeting scheduled for October 1st.

Low income New Orleanians to HUD, HANO & City Hall:
GIVE US A FAIR SHARE OF HUD FUNDED JOBS BY NOVEMBER 1ST OR WE’LL GIVE YOU A FEDERAL LAWSUIT!
*Section 3 of the U.S. Fair Housing Act mandates that HUD funded contractors set aside at least 30% of all new hires for low-income residents living in close vicinity to the area where redevelopment work is being done.*

*The City Council of New Orleans can pass a resolution demanding that HUD funded contractors hire more working class people from this city.*

*HUD funded contractors are engaging in discriminatory hiring practices that target low-income New Orleanians seeking employment at redevelopment sites in this city.*

*Working class people are banding together to compel HUD funded contractors to stop discriminating against low-income New Orleanians and to start hiring us.*

SECTION 3 RALLY FOR JOBS AND JUSTICE.
