DESCRIPTION:
HELP STOP THE PLAN TO CHARGE THE HOMELESS A FEE TO STAY AT THE NEW ORLEANS MISSION.

The management of the New Orleans Mission recently announced that homeless persons will be charged a $5 a night fee for a bed at the shelter starting June 1st. At present the Mission does not charge the homeless a fee for a bed at the shelter. Charging a fee to the homeless for a bed will surely add to the numbers of people already forced to sleep in the streets of the city.
Housing is a human right. Charging the homeless a fee to stay at the N.O. Mission is an attack on that right. Help stop the plan to implement a $5 a night fee for a bed at the shelter.
Contact the N.O. City Council members below and urge them to call on the N.O. Mission to abandon its plan to charge a fee for a bed at the establishment.
