Social Justice Activism After The 2010 Election. THE ELECTORATE HAS VOTED. BUT CAN THE PEOPLE BE HEARD?
Do the election results of November 2nd more or less set the parameters for what’s “politically possible” in this country for the next two years? Are the people of New Orleans and the rest of the United States destined to endure a turn to the hard right at least until the next round of national elections? Can struggle from below win meaningful gains for the working class and oppressed even while even while the levers of federal judicial and legislative power are firmly in the hands of the Right? Join us in a grass roots assessment of what the people can do to win advances for humanity in the aftermath of the Democratic Party’s November 2nd fiasco.
*Do we the people need a new party?* *Is a national public works program what’s needed to resolve the pressing problems of a dilapidated infrastructure and a sky high rate of unemployment?* *Can public education be saved?* *What can we the people do to end Washington’s wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and elsewhere?*
