If you believe, as we do, that six minutes and only six minutes is not enough time for public input on an agenda item at a City Council meeting then you should be a part of the second meeting of Avery Alexander Free Speech Assembly 9:30 AM on August 18th. The new public speaker rules for City Council hearings, they were implemented in July, drastically curtail the opportunity for people to address issues on the agenda and make a mockery of the idea that these meetings are public hearings.

Join in demanding that the CIty Council
let the people speak.

After the Assembly those who choose to do so will walk over to nearby New Orleans City Hall to voice our opposition to the new public speaker rules at the meeting of City Council schedule for the day.

Avery Alexander Free Speech Assembly.
9:30AM Thursday, August 18th
Near the Gazebo in Duncan Plaza/Avery Alexander Square.
All who wish to speak will be heard at the Assembly.
