Help Children Learn To Read VOLUNTEER!
Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR) is a volunteer-based, non-profit children’s literacy organization that provides free reading tutors for public school second grade students.
For 20 years, STAIR’s trained volunteers have tutored one-on-one with second graders in danger of academic failure to improve their reading and language skills. Students and tutors meet after school Monday through Thursday or on Saturday morning at sites around Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines Parishes.
Now more than ever, STAIR needs your help. Find out how you can give our children improved reading skills during the 2006-2007 school year.
Saturday, Sept. 16 at Algiers Methodist Church

Refreshments will be served.
Individual observation sessions will be scheduled for a date to follow the training
