Ark. National Guard Troops Find Bodies In Freezer
Arkansas National Guard soldiers discovered evidence of the lawlessness among storm victims in New Orleans -- 30 to 40 bodies inside a freezer at the New Orleans Convention Center, apparently killed violently.
Guardsman Mikel Brooks told the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper about the victims as he went through the freezer Monday. He pointed out victims young and old. One, an old woman, he remembered escorting into the Convention Center himself. Another was a seven-year-old girl with her throat cut.
Capt. Kristine Munn of the Arkansas National Guard said she had seen the Times-Picayune report but hadn't had a chance to talk to the soldiers yet. She said the report appeared correct.
