Over 10,000 families are to be evicted into the streets beginning TODAY unless there is some kind of last-minute reprieve. These families have been in apartments and hotels since the storm, scattered all over the country.
An earlier mass eviction in February has already been blamed for the Feb 14th suicide of a teenage mother according to one of the speakers at the rally.
The protest began on Capitol Hill, and then marched to FEMA. After that we turned out backs on FEMA and marched to the White House to demand that bush "do the right thing" and stop these evictions.
As of publication I have not heard any news of a reprieve! At WSQT Guerilla Radio, we continue to bring coverage from Occupied New Orleans to Occupied Washington on 87.9 FM in DC.
