In 28 pages and without advertisements, "Arise" devotes its news coverage to social justice issues and envisions the quarterly as a space for folks to engage in a discussion of radical ideas grounded in New Orleans' specific history and problems in order to attain collective liberation. This can only happen if people working to address different parts of our whole--healthcare, housing, environment, food access, education, criminalization, etc.--talk and listen to one another and organize together.
Specifically, this project was launched to address New Orleans' relative lack of internet access to be more inclusive and act as a tool to get more people from different neighborhoods and histories involved in writing about our city.
