Michael Moore slams CNN, Wolf Blitzer on live TV David Edwards and Josh Catone

Before a live interview with documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, CNN aired a segment entitled "Sicko Reality Check" in which Dr. Sanjay Gupta,the network's chief medical correspondent, aimed to keep Moore
"honest" and fact check his new film, Sicko.

The 4-minute piece concluded that Moore "did fudge the facts," and implied that Sicko was misleading in portraying health care systems in other countries, such as France, the UK, and Canada, as better than the one in the US.

When given a chance to speak, Moore immediately put host Wolf Blitzer on the defensive.

"That report was so biased, I can't imagine what pharmaceutical company's ads are coming up right after our break here," said Moore.
"Why don't you tell the truth to the American people? I wish that CNN and the other mainstream media would just for once tell the truth
about what's going on in this country."

Moore argued that CNN has such a lousy track record of reporting the truth about the war in Iraq and asking tough questions, that Americans
should be skeptical of their reporting on health care.

"You're the ones who are fudging the facts," said Moore. "You've fudged the facts to the American people now for I don't know how long about this issue, about the war, and I'm just curious, when are you going to just stand there and apologize to the American people for not bringing the truth to them that isn't sponsored by some major corporation?"

Blizter grew defensive and backed up his fellow CNN employee, saying that he would stand behind correspondent Sanjay Gupta's record on
medical issues......
Turning to the war in Iraq, Moore accused Gupta, who spent time embedded with US troops in Iraq, and the mainstream media at large of refusing "to ask our leaders the hard questions, and demand the honest answers." Moore laid the blame for the continued US involvement in the war in Iraq at the feet of the media, arguing that they failed to do their jobs and question the Bush war policy.

After the interview, Blitzer found sympathy from fellow CNN hosts Lou
Dobbs and Jack Cafferty.

Like clockwork each day, someone who calls himself or herself Wolfblitzzer0 logs on to RagingBull.com, a stock-talk Internet messageboard, and posts slurs about Michael J. Zwebner, the chief executiveof Miami Beach-based Universal Communication Systems.

Wolfblitzzer0's allegations have covered business practices, political conspiracies, and personal misdemeanors. In many posts, Wolfblitzzer0 accuses Zwebner of dirty business dealings and nefarious interactions with the Israeli government. One post accused Zwebner of claiming to keep kosher while secretly eating cheeseburgers, which are a Jewish dietary no-no because they combine meat and dairy.

Zwebner, who holds joint British-Israeli citizenship and splits his time between Tel Aviv and Miami Beach, has shown no tolerance for such
cybersmearing. Since September 2003, Zwebner has aggressively fought back, filing five lawsuits in U.S. District Court in Miami in retaliation for comments on RagingBull.com, which is operated by

Media Company Wins Sanctions Against Plaintiffs' Lawyer!

How would you feel if your company were forced to defend itself
against something that it never even said?

If your client or your company has ever been victimized like that, you
now have some support for going after the frivolous plaintiff – and its lawyer.

In early 2005, an attorney representing a public company gave Cable News Network 24 hours to stop a third party, who was using the screen
name "wolfblitzer0," from posting material the attorney's client found
objectionable. The postings were to a Web site hosted by Lycos and
included the following comments:

• Call the jewish anti-defamation league on this zwebner crook, always
hiding behind israeli president moshe katzav and using israeli army for fraud now!!! He won't even be welcome in israel at this rate.
[sic]

• Salcorptx, zwebner used moshe katzav, predident of israel, for tout
fraud as well, what's your point? He used the u.s military in iraq for
tout fraud as well. So what's your point? [sic]

• Zwebner uses dead american soldiers and lie of delivery of airwater
fraud machines to iraq to defraud americans and launder money
overseas. [sic]

There was utterly no basis for the demand against CNN. The company had
no ownership interest in Lycos. CNN journalist Wolf Blitzer had no
connection to the postings. Neither of them knew who was posting the
statements.

The lawyer who had contacted CNN on behalf of Universal Communications
Systems, Inc. (a holding company involved in various businesses
including broadband wireless Internet) and its CEO, Michael J.
Zwebner, did not even wait the 24 hours to file a defamation action
against CNN and Wolf Blitzer in the U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of Florida. CNN would soon learn that the plaintiffs
had previously filed at least five other lawsuits relating to material
on Lycos' Web sites.

Counsel for Universal Communications sent a letter on January 31,
2005, suggesting that CNN cooperate in discovering the identity of the
author of the postings, but it refused to dismiss the complaint. CNN
responded with a letter under Rule 11, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, demanding that the plaintiffs dismiss the complaint. When the letter proved unavailing, CNN filed a motion for dismissal and sanctions.

District Court Judge Adalberto Jordan dismissed the complaint. He later granted CNN's motion for Rule 11 sanctions. The Court cited the initial letter sent to CNN's in-house counsel by Universal Communications' lawyer, which said, "my clients believe there are both political and business pressures that can be brought to bear by CNN/AOL upon Lycos to cause them to exercise responsible internet community citizenship ..." In its order, the Court noted the
following:

… this statement evinces that the plaintiffs filed their complaint in
federal court for the sole underlying purpose of exerting "political
and business pressures" upon a defendant in another lawsuit, and to
obtain discovery it had been denied in the other cases.

On February 10, 2006, the District Court awarded the bulk of CNN's and
the other defendants' fees – and ordered the award to be paid by the
plaintiffs' counsel.

On January 14, 2005 we filed a law suit in the U.S. District Court,
Southern District of Florida (Miami), (Docket #05-CV-20047),
against Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., Cable News Network, Inc.
"CNN" and Wolf Blitzer for $100 million.
The law suit has been brought for defamation under Florida law. CNN
attorneys have contested this case, filed various motions,and the
judge closed the case in March 2005, and recommended sanctions against
us. We have however filed various appeals, and the case is still
pending decisions of the higher courts. Relating to this matter, we
issued a press release inviting any shareholder who had trading losses
in our stock during the period November 1, 2001 through the present,
to join in our filing of a class action suit against Lycos, et al.

In early December 2005, the 11th circuit court of appeals ruled
against the CNN Motions, and dismissed the application for sanctions.

Zwebner lawsuits on Internet posts

He may have a legitimate beef to some extent; the dozens of John Doe usernames he's seeking to discover in one lawsuit are being represented by a lawyer, L. Van Stillman, who apparently pled guilty to SEC charges of "pump and dump" schemes. (Then again, UCSY has a fishy 10-K, being forced to admit
that their auditors don't think that the company can be maintained as
a going concern. They've certainly had some bad luck: UCSY's 2003 10-K
was late "because of a fire at the building which houses the Company's
corporate headquarters". The most recent 10-Q was late "due to a fire
at the corporate accountant's office".)

More importantly for our purposes here, Zwebner's litigation methods,
through his lawyer John H. Faro, are questionable. He's filed five
lawsuits in federal court in Miami, against anonymous posters, against
Lycos (for, among other things,
"trademark violations" for naming a
message board after the ticker symbol UCSY), and even a couple of
purported class actions. He's especially upset at one anonymous
poster, who has the especially credible username of Wolfblitzzer0
[sic]. So, Zwebner has sued… CNN and the real-life Wolf Blitzer! It
seems, according to Zwebner's view of the world, that Blitzer is supposed to be on the lookout for anonymous posters using similar names, and should be held liable for such posters' postings when he fails to police the use of such usernames. A Google search shows that Zwebner seems to have had previous success

Wolf Blitzer was a writer for the Jerusalem Post and penned an article
defending New Hampshire's own political activist Max Hugel, whose
forced departure from the CIA caused controversy in 1981. Blitzer's
1984 article ends by suggesting the CIA should be investigated for
anti Semitism.The irony is that in 1984, Jonathan Pollard was a Jewish
spy for Israel and passing secrets from his post as an analyst for
Naval Intelligence before he was arrested by the CIA in 1985.

In 1984, Hugel was involved with the founders of the Washington Times.
Through the years the Washington Times has published articles in
support of Pollard.

In 1989 Wolf Blitzer wrote a book titled "Territory of Lies" about

it in a book review. In response to Wolf Blitzer's objections to the
review, Friedman accused Wolf Blitzer of sympathies to Netanyahu and
Blitzer's former employer the American Israeli Political Action
Committee (AIPAC) .

In 1999 Bill Clinton was going to pardon Pollard in order to get
concessions from Israel concerning the Middle East peace plan but
George Tenant the head of the CIA threatened to resign if he did.
Several months ago Netanyahu proclaimed that if elected he will win
Jonathan Pollards release from prison.

In his recent book "The Capture Of Jonathan Pollard" Ronald Olive, a
former Naval Intelligence official with first hand knowledge, is
concerned that apologists for Pollard's activities have muddied the
waters over the years.

Wolf Blitzer (born March 22, 1948 in Buffalo, New York) is an American
journalist and author. He has been a CNN reporter since 1990. Blitzer
is currently the host of the newscast The Situation Room and the Sunday talk show Late Edition. Blitzer previously hosted Wolf Blitzer
Reports, which was replaced by The Situation Room.
Wolf Blitzer, who has the same first name as his maternalmgrandfather,[1] grew up in Buffalo, New York, the son of Jewish refugees from Poland.
