Free Palestine, End the Israeli Occupation Demonstration

More than 200 people marched up Canal Street Sunday and chanted, held signs and Palestinian flags. "Gaza Gaza We are Here! Tell your children not to fear!" resounded one chant, emphasizing the intented solidarity of the march with Palestinians.

At 2p.m. on Sunday, more than 200 Palestinian-Americans and supporters congregated across from Harrah's Casino in downtown New Orleans. Over the course of several hours, the marchers went up Canal St., one of the largest main streets in the nation, toward Louis Armstrong Park.
The crowd consisted of the young and old, chanting and holding signs and Palestinian flags. "Gaza Gaza We are Here! Tell your children not to fear!" resounded one chant, emphasizing the intented solidarity of the march with Palestinians.
Several signs recognized that more than 1,200 Palestinians have died in the conflict. Many Jewish people came out to decry the Israeli attacks, saying "Not in my Name" and "Jews must stand up."
This is the third such march in New Orleans since Israel started air attacks and a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
